Starting Youtube Channel

Guys, I need some help and advice on starting a youtube channel.... I am planning to do automotive and retro gaming content into one channel and not sure how to do the automotive part... I asked SuperspeedRob for tips, and what would you know, he wasn't that helpful at all. The only issue is that I am not sure which type of camera to use, my Galaxy S8+ or get some type of GoPro and DJ Mavick drone....

Re: Starting Youtube Channel

I'd stick with the S8 until you've tried the whole YouTube thing for a couple months but that's just me. I think the hardest thing is staying committed and consistent with it. It's easy to say you're going to make videos but it's another thing to actually enjoy it enough to keep doing it. But go for it either way, who knows maybe you'll find it's something you love doing. If you really want to do it and you work at it hard enough you'll be successful eventually

Re: Starting Youtube Channel

You could do like vlogs for the car stuff and then game play videos where a little video of you is in the corner and the game is the big screen. Hard part is yeah the commitment and making good content. I watch some gamer and car YouTubers. You just gotta be confident and make funny exciting content. Illiminate is one of the best car channels out there imo and check out gaming with molt. Check those guys out and see how they do it maybe you can pick up some ideas or something. I would stick with the S8 for now cuz you don't want to invest money into a camera and end up quitting later. Start out small if you like it then invest in a camera. Good luck with everything!

Re: Starting Youtube Channel

Thanks guys for the input! I really appreciated it! I think Lucky is and will be the main car of the channel, and probably, if I do have enough money, I may end up getting an NSX, in the future (not getting rid of my beautiful 6GA).

Re: Starting Youtube Channel

a s8 can make a good camera no joke. for recording game play alot of people swear by using an elgato. for car vids or in car vids just use a suction cup base with phone mount for interior car shots. for exterior id use a knockoff go pro.

I got a youtube channel myself. its in my sig if you wana take a look. got some 6th gen stuff on there too

I am using OBS studio for recording gameplay and the PCSX2 and Virtual Boy as my emulators. I am looking at getting a Canon/Sony Camcorder or GoPro on Black Friday (whoever gives a killer deal). I checked out your channel a while ago, and its starting to get there. Just need more content.

Sorta does help. I might just stick with the GS8+ for the in car vlogs, and then invest in a GoPro for vlogs outside of the car... Later on, I may invest in a DJI Mavik Pro drone for those scenes.
